Lolo Pass 2

After getting such great weather with Andy, I thought a sunny MLK day was the perfect opportunity to take Shannon on a leisurely snowshoe outing. Unfortunately, the gale force winds came along as well. Also, there were some guys on ATVs shooting guns and dropping ammo on the road so we high tailed it out of there. Here we are hunkered down for a photo op.

Lolo Pass 1

Ah, winter! One day in December Andy and I got to go up on a warm, clear day. We met a guy who did an Oregon Field Guide article about a hidden waterfall, here he is describing it to us much the same way I saw him describing it on OFG a couple years ago.

We also saw a Sasquatch perched on a Power Transmission tower. No one knows how long he has been up there, but he seemed pretty comfortable.

And finally, a shot of Andy enjoying the day.

Engagement and more

This year Thanksgiving day took on new meaning. I asked Shannon to be my wife the day before. Of course I took advantage of the fact that she was jet-lagged after getting off a plane from Africa the day before that. Then I schmoozed her at her favorite restaurant with a view of her favorite city (Portland) and she said YES! Here she is looking cute on a recent winter outing as an engaged couple...

Venous Malformation

So there I was, all gowned up, hairnet on.

With requisite "super safety non-slip Kaiser approved surgery socks" on. And after the surgeon removed what could have been a Yorkies heart (aorta and all) from my palm, I have this little pretty to show for my $20 copay!

Near Cougar

Shannon & I decided to go for a hike up near Cougar, WA on a peak well known to the family...but one I will not mention here in order to protect the location of what we saw... yup, as far as I can tell, we saw a Spotted Owl!

Farther on up the trail we took this picture of us...

No foot postings today...sorry!

Do I really want to start doing this?

Hey folks, I know you're amazed, but I'm gonna give this a go. It seems quicker, easier, and more efficient than emailing everyone all the time... plus, you will all be able to see what I'm up to!

Warning... this blog will have an unusually high content of feet and foot related images...
